Grant Application
A GIRL YOU MIGHT KNOW FOUNDATION aims to put protective, supportive, educational and financial measures in place so that young women and creatives can rise and find success without compromising their most treasured rights.
Once a year we award a financial grant to a young creator, artist, or entrepreneur. The decision is based on our values of meaningful mission, responsible optimism, and commitment to creativity. Application submissions begin in September, they are reviewed in November and December, and awarded in January.
2023 Recipient: Congratulations to Emily Baggarely, the very first recipient of our A GIRL YOU MIGHT KNOW FOUNDATION grant.
As a young business owner of @emilybaggarlywebsitedesign LLC, her aim is to cultivate a business that helps other creators articulate their authentic voice through personal branding. She also strives to support other performers in protecting themselves on the stage and protecting their art through copyright processes. The career of a performer is unique, and Emily's mission is to make the "backstage details" make a little more sense.
A few words from the AGYMK Foundation President and Founder, CHEVAL
I want to do everything I can to ensure that what happened to me does not happen to others.
We see many corporations rely on predatory tactics or broad contract language to take advantage of the dreams, hopes and wishes of aspiring artists. A GIRL YOU MIGHT KNOW FOUNDATION aims to put protective, supportive, and financial measures in place so that young women and creatives can rise and find success without compromising too many of their rights or be stripped of their chosen trade.
In all that I've experienced, I hope to educate young creators on the potential dangers of non-compete clauses, the risks associated with vague contract language, and the importance of implementing thoughtful legislation when it comes to social media presence.
